Protecting Yourself From Scams and Phishing

Scammers impersonate Sykka to try to get your money or account details. This guide shows you how to recognise them, how to check whether a message is really from us, and what to do if something looks wrong.

Check who's really contacting you

  • Email: Official emails only come from an address ending in @sykka.com. Look at the full sender address, not just the display name; scammers use lookalikes such as sykka-support.com or sykka.co.

  • Social media and messaging apps: Use the official account verification tool on our website to check whether an account is a genuine Sykka channel. It only confirms the account is official — it doesn't mean any interaction with it is safe, so still be careful.

  • In the app: Messages from our support team appear under Contact Support in the Sykka app and carry an official badge. Anything claiming to be Sykka support outside the app is not.

What Sykka will never ask for

We will never contact you through social media, messaging apps or private chats to request:

  • Your passcode, or wallet recovery phrase

  • Your full card number, CVV, or expiry date

  • Verification codes sent to your phone or email

  • A transfer of crypto or fiat to a "safe" address, or to "verify" or "unlock" your account

If someone asks for any of these, it isn't Sykka.

Common scam patterns

  • Urgent warnings that your account will be frozen or closed unless you act now

  • Messages about a refund, reward or airdrop you didn't expect, with a link to "claim" it

  • Someone posing as support in a Telegram, Discord or WhatsApp group after you've asked a question publicly

  • Requests to install screen-sharing or remote access software

If you receive something suspicious

  • Don’t click any links, open attachments, or reply to the message.

  • Take a screenshot showing the sender and message content.

  • Contact Sykka Support through the in-app chat or forward the message to [email protected].

If you've already clicked or shared details

Act quickly:

  • Freeze your card in the Sykka app.

  • Enable two-factor authentication (Google anthentication) and Passkey if you haven't.

  • Contact our support team via in-app chat straight away so we can secure your account.
