Sykka cards work in over 200 countries and regions, so in most places they'll be accepted wherever Mastercard is. A few situations can still cause a payment to fail:
The country restricts foreign cards
Some governments limit or block payments on cards issued outside the country, or require merchants to use domestic card networks only. In these places even a valid, funded card may be declined.
The merchant's terminal doesn't accept international cards
In some regions, card terminals or online payment gateways are set up for local cards only. This is a merchant-side limitation — other merchants nearby may work fine.
The country is restricted
Due to sanctions or licensing requirements , Sykka cards can't be used in a small number of countries. Transactions made in the following locations will be declined automatically:
Afghanistan
Belarus
Cuba
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
Iran
Russia
Sudan
Syria
Ukraine
Venezuela
This list follows sanctions regimes and card scheme rules, neither of which are ours to set. We may add or remove countries as those requirements change, sometimes at short notice. We'll keep this page current, but a change can take effect before it appears here.
What you can try
Use a locally accepted payment method as a backup.
Try the merchant again, or try a different merchant nearby.
Remember that transactions in currencies other than USD are subject to the foreign transaction fee.
