What Happens if I Close(Delete) My Sykka?

Written by Yolanda Wang

Closing your account is permanent. Before you do it, make sure you've withdrawn everything.

What happens when you close your account

  • Your remaining balance is forfeited. Any funds still in your account at closure — including referral rewards — cannot be recovered afterwards. Withdraw your full balance before closing.

  • Your card is cancelled and can't be restored. Update any subscriptions or saved payment methods first.

  • Your referral link stops working and you'll no longer earn from existing referrals.

  • Your account can't be reopened. You can register a new account, but you cannot use the identity information or documents verified on your current account to verify the new account.

  • Some of your information will be retained for a period after closure, as required by financial regulations. See our Privacy Policy for details.

If you have already completed identity verification, you will not be able to verify a new account using the personal information or identity documents belonging to the same person.

Please consider this carefully before deleting a verified account, as deleting it may prevent you from using Sykka’s verified services in the future.

Before you close

  1. Withdraw your entire balance to an external wallet.

  2. Wait for any pending withdrawals or refunds to complete.

  3. Cancel subscriptions linked to your card.

We're sorry to see you go. If something didn't work for you, we'd like to hear about it — tell us through in-app chat, it helps us improve.
