How to Enable Passkeys on Your Device

Written by Yolanda Wang

A passkey is a secure way to verify that it’s really you without entering a password or verification code.

After creating a passkey, you can use your device’s Face ID, fingerprint, screen lock, or PIN to verify access to your Sykka account. Passkeys use encrypted technology designed to protect you against phishing and stolen login credentials.

Before creating a passkey for Sykka, make sure your device is ready to use and store passkeys.

On iPhone

To use Apple’s built-in passkey solution, iCloud Keychain and two-factor authentication for your Apple Account must be enabled.

Turn On iCloud Keychain

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap your name, then select iCloud.

  3. Next to Saved to iCloud, tap See All.

  4. Select Passwords & Keychain.

  5. Turn on Sync this iPhone and follow the on-screen instructions.

Turn On Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap your name, then select Sign-In & Security.

  3. Select Two-Factor Authentication.

  4. Enter a trusted phone number and tap Next.

  5. Enter the verification code sent to your trusted phone number.

On Android

To use passkeys with Google Password Manager, your device must have a screen lock and be signed in to a Google Account.

Set Up a Screen Lock

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Security or Lock Screen.

  3. Set up a PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint, or face unlock.

Menu names may vary depending on your device.

Enable Passkey Saving

  1. Open Settings and search for Password Manager.

  2. Select Google Password Manager.

  3. Open Settings.

  4. Turn on the option to save passwords and passkeys.

  5. Make sure you are signed in to the Google Account where you want your passkeys to be stored.

Once your device is ready, return to the Sykka app and follow the instructions to create a passkey for your account.
